Position Summary:

Are you an LNA who would like to utilize all your technical and professional interpersonal skills?  Are you looking for a dynamic work setting where every day is different and you learn something new every shift?  The PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) allows the LNA to utilize the full spectrum of technical skills (assisting with therapeutic positioning, performing bladder scans and cardiac monitoring, removing indwelling caths and IV's, blood glucose monitoring, among others),  interpersonal skills to provide comfort to patients and families alike, and administrative skills when covering the administrative desk and processing update calls from the OR to prepare for a patient's arrival. Important, too, is the ability to assess the patient and, working with the clinical nurse staff, proactively perform a deeper assessment based on the patient's verbal and non-verbal cues.  


1.    Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, performing ADL's, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc.

2.    Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc.

3.    Assists visitors and answer telephones.

4.    Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department.

5.    Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

ü  High school graduate required.

ü  Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use. 

ü  Previous hospital experience preferred.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

ü  Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.

ü  BCLS certification required.
