Job Posting: Summary of Job Duties: The Clinical Nurse III under the direction of the Associate Director performs a variety of direct patient care activities or tasks specific to the unit/needs of the patient population. He/she maintains competency skills including ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. He/she can identify the ability of adolescent, adult and geriatric patient to follow directions/instructions. He/she can identify safety concerns in the age- related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment and identify development milestones in the age-related population.
Essential Job Duties:
• Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care services, including, but not limited to, the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
• Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, central line access and care if applicable, and the initiation of peripheral venous access.
• Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition. Assesses signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics. Plans and implements care based on observations. Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.
• Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies patient’s readiness for learning and ability to follow directions/instructions and give consent.
• Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to multiple specialty clinics

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
BSN preferred
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
California State RN License
BCLS
Specialty Certification
Experience:
Working knowledge of applicable Standards of practice
Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse assigned level
3+ years of Acute Care Nursing experience
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Exposure to normal office and clinical area noise.
