The Medical/Surgical Unit at Northside Hospital provides acute and rehabilitative nursing care services that help our patients get back to their daily lives.
Recognizing that each patient’s journey to recovery is different and requires a special level of care, our unit is characterized by a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere that stresses personal attention. This
approach unifies our team, connects our efforts, and has resulted in outstanding patient satisfaction survey results.
The Med/Surg unit participates in nursing education by providing internships for students and in patient care development by supporting clinical internships for Patient Care Technicians.

Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members. Will work with an exceptional team on a 34 bed Medical Surgical Unit with an emphasis on Pulmonary Care.
REQUIRED: 1. a. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant course, and be listed as a CNA on the Georgia Registry OR b. Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course OR c. Enrolled in a School of Nursing and has completed one (1) full semester of clinical rotations OR d. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Medical Degree program 2. Current BLS card (CPR). PREFERRED: Six (6) months’ patient care experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
Acute care experience a strong plus, Flexible schedule needed for Fulltime commitment. Must be open to work variable days. Strong passion for patient care and clinical competence in a fast paced environment.
License/Certification Requirements: Yes
Work Hours: 7p-7:30a
Weekend Requirements: Yes
On-Call Requirements: No
