POSITION SUMMARY: Under general direction, participates in the development and maintenance of all Information Systems that require clinical input and decision-making within the DHR network. Coordinates a broad range of teams, builds consensus and works collaboratively with various IS personnel and department stakeholders to develop and create clinical protocols and treatment decision guidelines within the system(s). RESPONSIBILITES: •Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices. •Develops metrics to measure effectiveness and impact to health care delivery (ex. include satisfaction (staff/patient); clinical outcomes; process effectiveness). •Conducts evaluation of current software delivery tool and utilization and may include, but not limited to, satisfaction surveys, feedback, and focus groups. •Identifies best practices of virtual health delivery, emerging health innovations to improve health and well-being of the patient/population and clinical service gaps and incorporates this information to formulate appropriate CDS tools to enhance healthcare delivery. •Participates in planning, development, implementation, upgrading, maintenance and evaluation of clinical information systems. •Data collection, cataloguing of gathered information, documentation of processes, and communication with other members of staff and MTFs. •Accurately and promptly analyzes and prioritizes user needs and requests related to clinical information systems. •Develops, documents, and implements processes for multi-disciplinary end-user. •Provides proactive user support including, but not limited to, training and education. •Assists in the evaluation and development of training and in-service programs as required. •Participates in the system-wide activities around design, build and implementation of clinical content and workflow within BHCS for the enterprise care model, participates in and documents output from multidisciplinary team meetings. •Other duties as assigned.
POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: •High School/GED required •Master’s Degree with a concentration in a healthcare technology field is preferred •Graduate of accredited school of nursing required •Current registered Nurses license in the State of Texas required •Good written and verbal communication skills required. •Some evening or weekend work will be required •Bilingual – English/Spanish. JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE¬: •Five – Ten (5-10) years of combined clinical and/or information technology experience preferred •Prior experience with clinical system design, development, testing, implementation and support preferred •Strong analytical and problem solving skills. •Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize a variety of projects in a timely manner. •Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels and builds consensus through negotiation and diplomacy in both formal and informal settings. •Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint •Knowledge of all state and Federal regulations •Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
