Job Description:

RN Staff Nurse - Cardiac Stress Test Meridian Park Medical Center

The Cardiac Stress Test RN provides professional nursing support and service for patients, functioning with a high degree of knowledge, skill and experience in cardiovascular care that is applied to achieve optimal outcomes through critical analysis, problem solving and decision making. The primary role of the Cardiac Stress Test RN is to supervise the administration of cardiac stress testing. Cardiac Stress test includes Exercise ECG Testing, Stress Echocardiography and Stress Radionuclide Cardiac Imaging

To be successful in this role, the Cardiac Stress Test RN must:

Competent performance of exercise testing requires significant cognitive knowledge and understanding of cardiac disease states. This includes knowledge of but not limited to: cardiovascular and exercise physiology, including hemodynamic response to exercise, appropriate indications, alternate physiological cardiovascular test, prompt recognition and response to complications.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with health care team members across multiple disciplines and departments (i.e., nursing, rehab, pharmacy, imaging, ED, etc.) involved with orthopedic care.

Prioritize work and effectively manage time with minimal supervision.

 Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

Academic degree in nursing (BSN or higher) required within 5 years of hire or by December 31, 2020, whichever is earlier. 

Experience:

2-3 years of expertise in the care of patients with cardiovascular disease required. Experience must demonstrate independent thinking, clinical judgement and ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Licensure/Certification:

Current RN License in Oregon and/or Washington.

ACLS through AHA.

BLS through AHA.

Specialty certification (CCRN, CEN, PCRN, CVRN) strongly preferred 

SKILLS:

Advanced cardiac and vascular assessment and EKG skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Strong organization skills

Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient centered work environment.
