The Nurse Manager serves as the accountable department manager for a designated patient care unit/department(s). She/he has responsibility for all daily operational activities including departmental planning related to staffing, scheduling, and budget, ensuring appropriate systems and processes for the efficient delivery of care, and ensuring safe/high quality care and an outstanding experience for patients and their families. This leadership role assumes 24 hours a day, seven days a week responsibility for all department functions. The manager is responsible for maintaining effective interprofessional communication and a positive work environment that supports and embraces the principles of shared governance. The manager is also responsible for ensuring that staff are educated and competent to care for the patients under their care. The manager routinely collaborates; works effectively with physicians, peers and other Legacy leadership to meet the strategic objectives of Legacy.
Education: Academic degree (BSN or MSN/MN) required. Master’s degree required; MSN/MN preferred. Internal or external candidates may be considered with verification of a master’s degree in progress.
Experience: Two years of leadership practice experience required. Demonstrated growth in leadership responsibilities and breadth desired. Previous clinical experience specific to the appropriate area of specialty practice is highly desirable.

This Nurse Manager will be responsible for the following departments:
Ambulatory Procedure Area which includes 3 Operating Rooms and 1 Lasik Procedure Room separate from the main Operating Room, located within the main hospital.
Endoscopy and Cath Lab to include 5 Endo Suites and 5 Cath Labs
Pre and Post Procedural Recovery Department
Responsible for approximately 65 employees including Charge RN’s, RN’s and Techs.
Experience with Lean process preferred.
This Manager will report to the Director Surgical and Interventional Services.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure for applicable state. Specialty specific certification highly desirable.
Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, staff development, quality, safety and patient experience management. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are essential.
