The Vascular and Wound Care Center at University Hospital offers advanced wound care modalities that are approved by the FDA and have demonstrated safety and clinical efficacy through well conducted randomized clinical trials (RCTs).

Specialized Care

The Center provides specialized care for chronic non-healing cutaneous ulcers resulting from underlying medical conditions such as: diabetes, neuropathy, immobility, venous insufficiency, arterial disease, arthritis, autoimmune disease, hematological disorders, infections, cancer and other chronic inflammatory conditions. We also provide comprehensive care for post-operative wounds and wounds caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

A Commitment to Personalized Care for Each Patient

The Vascular and Wound Care Center at University Hospital assures that each patient will receive individualized personal attention.

Patients are examined by doctors and nurses with special training in vascular medicine/surgery and experience in surgical and medical wound care. The goals of care are discussed with the patient, family and primary care physician in order to identify appropriate therapies that will address both physical and supportive aspects of care. The most appropriate and advanced local wound care regimens are selected in order to provide an environment to stimulate healing, prevent infection and relieve pain.

At each visit the patient see the same doctors and nurses who take the necessary time to insure that the patient and support persons understand the objectives and realistic detailed expectations of the treatment plan. You’ll be working as part of this consistent team approach that allows the patient and family to gain confidence in the program leading to greater compliance, more thorough comprehensive care and enhanced healing rates.

Clinical Research

An important goal of our academic wound care center is the establishment of a robust research program. The Vascular and Wound Care Center will provide innovation as well as opportunities for chronic wound patients to participate in FDA approved clinical research trials studying new medications and technologies in the vascular and wound care environment.

An Exciting Opportunity to be part of the renowned team at the Vascular and Wound Care Center at University Hospital as an Advanced Practice Nurse

Qualifications:

A current Registered/Professional Nurse license and registration in the State of New Jersey is required.
Completion of an educational program which is designed and conducted to prepare graduates to practice as an NP/APN with a master’s degree in nursing and eligible for certification by a national certifying body.
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving are essential.
A minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience and current BLS certification are required. Experience as a Wound Care Nurse strongly preferred.
