Our Maternal Child Float nurses value the rich exposure to many different patient scenarios, and their wide circle of professional colleagues throughout the hospital, with the diversified skill-sets they possess. This position pays $5 per hour above the base rate, which is calculated by years of RN experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Our Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients with/without telemetry. Our Registered Nurses will float to the following areas as a maternal child nurse. Inpatient Units: Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Hem/Onc, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Intermediate Care, Neonatal Intensive Care and Women’s Health/Newborn Nursery. Procedural Areas: Children’s Hospital Perianesthesia and Children’s Hospital Emergency Room.

REQUIRED for the Maternal Child float pool:
4 years RN experiencerequired in the field of maternal child nursing
Current BLS, PALS and/or NRP
Preferred: BSN and Certification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
6 months RN experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
