The registered nurse is responsible forassessing, planning ,implementing and evaluating the plan for the perioperative patient. The nurse also serves as a patient advocated during times of vulnerability by utilizing required critical thinking skills and a knowledge regarding the care of the patient in the operating room. The position has an average response time to call which is thirty minutes. Our progressive and innovative surgical team fosters an environment that is challenging, dynamic, and state-of-the-art. Become a part of the dynamic team in our progressive Perioperative Division, which provides quality cutting edge surgery. Our Operating Room Suites consist of thirty four operating rooms and four procedure rooms. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of cases Last year the Operating room completed in over 20,000 procedures. Because we are part of an academic medical center, as well as a Level I Trauma Center, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of patients and experiences. Some of the OR services we provide on a daily basis include: General, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedic, ENT, Transplantation, Gynecology, Urology, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Pediatric Surgery.
Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
6 months RN experience required.
BSN. CNOR. Operating Room experience.
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
