Hours: 72 hr/pp - 7p to 7a, rotating weekends and call
Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal, and regulatory standards. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and redirects plan of care as condition indicates. Assures that patient care interventions and activities are directed at the resolution of identified patient problems/needs. Attends deliveries, recognizes normal transition of the neonate versus illness, provides initial communication and education to the family at the birth of the baby. Assists with UAC/UVC placement, gives meds accurately, maintains Neutral Thermal Environment, evaluates x-rays for signs of disease and line placement, responds appropriately to lab tests, performs transillumination and needle thoracentesis as indicated, knows initial stabilization of neonate with a surgical emergency, assists or performs intubation, completes full resuscitation within NRP and STABLE guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho. Previous NICU/Pediatrics/PICU experience preferred. Current BLS and NRP required. Stable and PALS preferred.
